I'd wager to say there are many in Trump's base who are weary of taking the Covid vaccine, and reasonably so. There are still many questions remaining regarding the potential side effects, effectiveness, and long-term safety of the vaccine. The way it's been pushed on the public and used as a control mechanism only adds to the apprehension. So the question remains, if it's so unpopular with his base, why does Trump continue to endorse it? For that I believe we have to look at it from a forty-thousand foot view.

Trump has once said that the vaccine has saved millions and millions of lives. I believe he is correct, but not in the way most people think. Let's imagine for a moment if Hillary Clinton had won in 2016 and she was president during the pandemic. There would have been no Operation Warp Speed and likely no vaccine, but we would probably still be locked down too. That was the plan.

It's been said there was a 16 year plan to destroy America, starting with Obama and ending with Hillary. Typically it takes 5 to 10 years to produce a vaccine. That's how long they wanted to keep the world locked down but the world economy would never have recovered from that. It would have resulted in millions and millions of deaths. Not from Covid, but from suicides, riots, starvation, and so on. It would have been an unmitigated disaster of the highest magnitude. When Trump won, he disrupted their plans. It's true they are still trying to push for restrictions and lockdowns, but they're having a much more difficult time now that a vaccine exists (and effective therapeutics).

This is the predicament Trump was in. If he did nothing, the world economy would have collapsed beyond the point of no return. No matter your views on the vaccine, it did allow for things to open back up and get the economy going again, averting a much worse catastrophe. The vaccine then was the lesser of two evils. It gave us a fighting chance against the desires of the globalists for a Great Reset (see Klaus Schwab). The greater threats now are the mandates and vaccine passports.

So Trump would gain nothing by disavowing the vaccine now. It would undermine everything he accomplished with Operation Warp Speed and the media would rake him over the coals for it. He has maintained that it should be a choice, and that is the most important thing. Yes there are still casualties, but rather anyone recognizes it or not, we are in a war. It's just a war of a very different kind. More on that another time.

This spot on.  No matter what we think about the vaccine, the therapeutics developed, or the disease itself, it clearly has been politicized and weapon used.  (I did already do a checkout on this) thank you for handling these parts of site in our absence!

Wow...what a great take, Watchman.

I've been thinking about exactly this for some time.

Your post make perfect sense to me now.
