The Revenge of Meg Whitman

The one part of the war on women that I agree with is the name calling and disrespect.  I of course do not agree with liberals that they are sweet people and only conservatives have this problem.  I do not even agree that the name calling is only against women - although that is the part that disgusts me the most.  I believe it is even worse - a general lack of respect that Americans should have for each other.  Recall that comedian Wanda Sykes wished Rush Limbaugh dead and got a laugh from Mr. Obama.  So, this lack of respect thing runs quite deep.  But yes, it is quite sick that some women are called names.  That is why I do not like rap music and one of the reasons I do like what Muslims do - since they treat women bad.  I find it so odd that the ladies on the View like both rap music and Muslims so much.  Most odd.  My real opinion is that the women on the VIEW like Democrats and do not like women.

But when Meg Whitman, former CEO of EBay, ran for California Governor, I was elated.  The Terminator had failed to fix California economy and instead got his maid pregnant.  Worse, he did not even make any new movies in the Terminator series.  But what he did do is to add to the California debt.  Next Terminator movie I go to, I am rooting for the machines.  But then I said - Meg Whitman - EBay - she likely understands how money works.  She can fix this state.

But then the liberals moved in to fix Meg Whitman.  The first thing we heard from the Democratic issues group was when someone from the Democratic candidate Brown's election campaign over the phone called Meg Whitman a whore.    It is believed that that came from Mrs. Brown, but with no apology, who knows?  I guess conservative women can be called whores and Democrats do not care.  And then I understand that the California Women's group agreed that Meg Whitman was a whore.  Now I have multiple issues on that.  First it is disrespectful, and the second is that it is illogical.  As head of EBay, Meg certainly would not need the money.  I guess liberals cannot think.    Then it got worse.  Gloria Allred, the Democratic puppet, then put a story together that to this day makes no sense to me.  Allred said that Meg Whitman cheated her illegal immigrant maid.  The story was that the illegal immigrant maid falsified her papers (forgery) in order to get a job and even confused her hiring agency.  Meg who believed she was an American citizen hired her and paid her about twice minimum wage.  But then the illegal immigrant maid, "poor little Nickie" told Meg that she was an illegal immigrant, Meg fired her as she should do by law.  But liberals made this into something awful, and talked about all of the "poor little Nickies out there".  You mean the ones that forge papers, lie cheat and steal from Americans?  Those poor little Nickies?  But amidst this Allred blitz and being called a whore, Meg lost.  California also lost since Meg Whitman was really the only recent chance for California to be fiscal.

But was that the end of Meg Whitman?  Nope.  Meg Whitman was then hired by what I consider one of the greatest US flagships of industry - Hewlett Packard.  There are some great things there - in my mind.  First of all, I have dealt with HP in the past.  In fact my guess is that over time I bought $25 million of equipment for factories I ran from HP - who often had the very best equipment.   In return, HP let me see a number of their facilities in California, Colorado,  and Scotland, also invited me to one of their meetings in Geneva Switzerland.  I would rate HP as one of the most ethical, high flying US companies I have ever dealt with.  In addition, I understand HP gave Meg stock options worth $16.1 million.  US Industry knows her value.  I believe I knew her value.  Liberals did not.  That was a huge loss for California, but this great lady - just landed on her feet.  That part at least in my mind - was justice.  Now, if Meg was as evil as liberals, she would move the HP facilities in California out to a fly-over state.  That is something I would consider.  But she is likely too nice.  A pity.  I live in California.  In California we can have all the unions we want to eat, and all the environmental alarmists we can stand.  Taxes are a bit high though.  And intelligence a might low.

There are pockets of conservatives Homer.  Most of the rich liberal Hollywood types live near the ocean.  I live inland in a valley that has more churches than actors or actresses.  But I do admit that we are an outpost - an oasis in the middle of a desert of snakes and coyotes.

You have good reason to question California Homer.  Some of the people here are reasonably odd.  When I lived in England for three years working, twice I asked a Brit why they hated France.  Twice I got the same answer.  "France is a lovely country.  France is very beautiful.  It is just where the idiot French people live".  Change a few words in that, and you have my opinion of California.  Beautiful place, lovely weather, enticing palm trees, but it is filled daily with idiots.

I loved Calif when I lived there. I cried all the way from San Diego to LA when I moved up to Washington. Now washington is nearly as bad as Calif in terms of liberal politicians

It's tough. Even after 30 years I'm not used to it. Guess it's my Wild Wild West upbringing! I don't want to get used to it!

Washington State Patriot?  I have heard that both Washington State and Oregon are fairly liberal.  Of course so is California.  But I live in a very conservative valley inland between the mountains where there are more churches than politicians.

Yes, RN, Wash State - at least Western Washington - is dominated by liberals. Seattle is the largest city in the state and pretty much wags the dog for the whole state.

When I moved up here I remember being offended by signs saying "Don't Californicate Washington" as I didn't realize the deeper meanings of the sentiment. Now I do. Boy do I ever.

I am not sure I am following everything here Patriot and yet I want to.  By Californicate you mean to make Washington as liberal and messed up as California, right?  Here is one link on MSNBC no less, that says it refers to politics, high housing prices and lousy driving.  I think I can attest to all three, but their recession seems to have driven housing prices down - along with the citizenry.

Oh - let me add something.  By the things you say, you might love the following movie which of course the critics hate:

"Did you hear about the Morgans?"

2009  http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1314228/

It stars Hugh Grant and Sarah Jessica Parker who are liberals in a witness protection program who are sent to a conservative wild west state to hide.  And in this movie, they show that the liberals cannot handle any problem and the conservatives have to keep saving them.  Of course, the liberal movie critics just hate it.  I loved it.  :)
