The Fantasy World of Communism and Socialism
I continue to hear many liberals tell me that communism and socialism are the best forms of government. The difference between them and me is that they believe in theories, which in this case are fantasies. The two questions to ask liberals about this is: (1) of the 196 countries in the world, many of which are socialistic or communistic, which works better than the US? (2) Why do you not just go there then and leave us alone? But therein lies the truth. The theories have not worked. This is what they have become:
Communism - There is no real communism as Karl Marx suggests nor will there ever be. Every communist country becomes a dictatorship since there seems to be nothing in communism to prevent it. In the US we have 5 checks and balances that try to stop a dictator from taking over: President, Congress, Supreme Court, Media and Voters. In communism someone told me that there is a "politburo" to stop it. Well, sports fans, I fail to see the country where this politburo works. And so for me, communism is never a noun but always an adjective for "communist dictatorship". To see how much BS this all is, China was supposed to be communist. Well, the dictators in the government just changed it to add what some call "government capitalism". How can they do that if communism is pure and works, and the people control it? I say all three of those are lies - it is not pure, it does not work, and the people have no voice. Therefore if the dictator leaders wish to redefine their system as a pasta dish and kill anyone who objects, they can and will.
Socialism - Socialism as many say, removes incentives for someone doing something good. So it always seems to end up as one person working twice as hard in order to pay for another who wants to not work at all and sit on their butt. And so "perspective" becomes important. If you are the one sitting on your butt, you love it, but if you are the one working twice as hard for ungrateful weasels, you hate it. In Europe, some German brats complain that they must work to 65 or 67 in order to pay for the sweet Greeks who retire at age 50. In Wisconsin the unions who with their benefits make twice as much as the normal workers in the private sector want more still. Yes, Socialism is a form of racism or slavery, where some work, and some never have to. In fairness I was going to buy my food and goods from the occupy movement instead of capitalism, but then I found to my horror - they do not make any food goods or services ! The Occupy movement plants no food, makes no iPODs and does not even clean up after themselves.
And so many nowadays miss the obvious:
Capitalism - with all of its flaws has brought us what we call civilization today. It has taken streets with sewerage in the water and rats and plagues and people dying in child birth to a high living standard. Of the 196 countries in the world, it seems to me that the highest living standard is in the countries with capitalism - and those without it are far poorer. Earth Day to me, after reading someone's thoughts on the subject, is total BS by someone who just wants to go back to the days of rats and plagues and drinking sewerage. Hating capitalism in a way, is hating yourself. If you hate capitalism, make the choice for your future now: (1) hunter or (2) gatherer (3) dead of starvation or due to lack of shelter and care.
