~ Where the Sun Will Never Set on Our liberty ~
Worried about Global Warming? In the history of the earth, I do not know of a time where humans making CO2 killed off part of the planet. In addition, I have a science degree and worked many years in a science field, and I cannot follow their arguments. However, there apparently are five things that can kill a large amount of life on earth, or all life on earth, and the top four have happened in the past. If you want to know what to worry about, I would recommend worrying about these.
1. Ice Ages
3. Earth hits by planets or meteors or asteroids
4. Gamma Ray burst (worry about WR 104)
5. Sun is expanding and will eventually encompass the earth and just eat it up (will take billions of years likely. Has not happened yet of course - unlike the other 4)
The science channel tells me that the earth of course has been hit with meteors and asteroids and that they killed much life on earth. They perhaps killed the dinosaurs. Some say one near the Americas killed off the Wooly Mammoths in North America and the saber toothed tigers. A science show last night said the earth was hit once by a small rogue planet, billions of years ago. And they said that the planet hit caused the planet to become part of earth while huge chunks of debris blew from the earth. They then say that debris then grouped and became our moon. They say we are lucky, since the moon was helpful in slowing down earth rotation and also helping the formation of life on earth. So, 4 billion years ago, a planet hit was good news. Not so much today if it happened.
Gamma Rays, and WR 104 (not to be confused with WD 40) can kill. If a star explodes, even 8000 light years away, the star can become a black hole but also give off a gamma ray burst that is deadly. Such a burst some scientists believe already have hit the earth in the past - again long ago. And that blast turned earth into some hot lava and the like for a while. Was not good. What is WR 104? A dual star system some 8000 light years away. When those stars die, they are within range for a gamma ray burst to destroy the earth. But, this may not happen for a while. I would not cancel your plans for the weekend.
The expansion of the sun continues. This has not killed earth life in the past like the other four, but will some day, far, far in the future. As the sun grows larger and larger, it will begin to eat up the planets around it, and all that is on those planets.
What should the government do? Well some think the government should worry about global warming, something scientists do not all agree with. In fact some scientists say that the earth has now been cooling for the last 17 years. Some Russian scientists say in fact that the sun's warming period is over, and we are now into the sun's cooling period, and that we are slowly now going into the next ice age. Note that they have some history behind them, since the earth has had about 6 ice ages in the past. And those Russian scientists say humans will not live through the next one. Well, perhaps that is why Russia, unlike the US, did not cancel its space program. If the earth becomes deadly, to survive, humans have to go somewhere else.
But if the main objective of any government is to protect its people, I would like to hear what their plans are to protect us from the earth killers that in fact are real, four of which have happened in the past. Some scientists say a large object heading at the earth could get its course changed if even a small gravity object was near it - using gravity to shift its course. Well, if a country still had a space program, they might be able to figure out how to provide that protection. As for gamma rays, I hear that they happen too fast. You see the light, and then all is gone. Well, a smart government could prevent some of these five, but perhaps not all. Anyway, that is my advice. Worry about stuff .... that has already happened in the past, and is therefore quite real.
