On Sheep, Wolves and Sheepdogs

On Sheep, Wolves and Sheepdogs

(From the book, On Combat, by Lt. Col. Dave Grossman)

"Honor never grows old, and honor rejoices the heart of age. It does so because honor is, finally, about defending those noble and worthy things that deserve defending, even if it comes at a high cost. In our time, that may mean social disapproval, public scorn, hardship, persecution, or as always, even death itself.

The question remains: What is worth…

Big Bird and the Joker

Who needs debates between candidates when you can have cartoon character distractions?

First there was Barack Obama, who did so poorly in his first debate with GOP presidential nominee Mitt Romney that he and his campaign resorted to focusing on saving Big Bird and Sesame Street from spending…

Obama’s Reset World

According to Yevgeny Fyodorov, the head of the Committee on Economic Policy and Entrepreneurship of the Russian State Duma, the U.S. is slowly but surely losing unchallenged global economic and political power.

Fyodorov said that: "… but in reality it is the key event in today's global scenario. With the onset…

American Success or European Failure

The most recent Washington Times/Zogby poll shows voters now favor GOP presidential candidate Mitt Romney over Barack Obama on two key issues: the economy and national security.

Obama had been leading prior to the October 3rd debate.  The results of that debate changed a lot of minds.  On…

Energy Starts American Recovery

America needs to become energy independent. America’s dependence on foreign energy puts her at great risk in a world that grows increasingly unstable. Given the current political upheavals in the Middle East, this reality is more than slapping America in the face.

Those who claim to be…

Unemployment 7.8% October Surprise

After having his hat handed to him and being shown the door by his opponent in a debate performance so poor for Barack Obama that his only recourse was to bully Mitt Romney on the campaign stump the next day, what is a candidate hoping for re-election supposed to do to change the momentum?

Have the Labor Department revise previous unemployment numbers to show that the economy created 86,000 more jobs during the summer than first reported, then conclude that as a result, the…

There was a passing this week.

Halfway down the trail to hell

In a shady meadow green,

Are the souls of all dead troopers camped

Near a good old-time canteen

And this eternal resting place

Is known as Fiddler's Green.

Marching past, straight through to hell,

The infantry are seen, '

Accompanied by the Engineers,

Artillery and Marine,

For none but the shades of Cavalrymen

Dismount at Flddlers' Green.

Though some go curving down the trail

To seek a…

Romney in Big Trouble

Following the first presidential debate on October 3rd between Barack Obama and Mitt Romney, one in which Romney repeatedly scored and Obama appeared lost, annoyed and disinterested; pundits, pollsters and political junkies alike unanimously declared Mitt…

Post Racial America?

For the better part of his time in the national spotlight, the current White House occupant, with a major assist from obedient "progressive" Party Pravda puppies so eager for approval from their anointed one they have adopted criminally negligent journalistic practices, has…

Back to Basics, a Necessity

It would seem the genius of We The People, as it is often referred to in The Federalist Papers, has been thwarted by our educations. Many may immediately argue this fact, however, irrespective of the educational facts we set aside, there remains our approach, our angle and perspective, how we derive our conclusions. Much of this can be taught both by what we reject and what we accept, a sort of tugging of these back…

Romney: Attack to Win

America’s 2012 deficit has surpassed the already outrageous and immoral deficit of 2011.  Despite hundreds of thousands of Iraqi and Afghani veterans not yet receiving their VA health care benefits Barack Obama has increased spending on foreign aid by 80 percent.

Where is that foreign aid going?  How much of it will fund America’s so-called allies in Libya, Egypt or Pakistan?  What portion of taxpayer’s money will end up in the hands of jihadists who posted threats on Facebook before…

Why The Tea Party Matters

Tea Party principles are based on a belief in the U.S. Constitution.  Across America, a huge natural constituency exists for the bread-and-butter American issues of lower taxes, reduced government, a strong national defense, secure borders and a return to the traditional American values of: E Pluribus Unum, Liberty and in God we trust.

E Pluribus Unum means from many, one. It does not mean unquestioning acquiescence to…
