~ Where the Sun Will Never Set on Our liberty ~
Just wanted to let you all know in case I'm absent on and off.
Rick's cancer is getting much worse. He just had a PET scan and his lymph nodes are much larger throughout his body (some the size of a baseball)He has new ones with cancer in them also.
I had a new MRI of my neck and my herniated disks are worse and I need surgery which I can't get because I won't be able to take care of Rick.
To add to it, my father-in-law, Ricks Dad just had 2 strokes and is in the hospital. 87 years old. He can't see much now or walk. You just can't make this stuff up!
Don't apologize for anything, Ruthie! I apologize for never answering my phone. I'm either at the doctors with Rick or doing something at my father-in-laws. I haven't had time to even breathe! I'm hoping you're feeling ok and doing better, my friend!
Praying for all. God Bless.
Thank you, Lawrence! :)
Robin, I can only pray for you and Rick and of course Rick's dad. Even as an ordained minister, my faith in God sometimes waivers, so many times in our lives crisis' like these overwhelm us, and we begin to ask God why, why me? Please take heart, and know that all of us are praying for God's will in your life. The Lord never burdens his children with more than He feels we can handle, and prayers are heard by the Lord. Lay your burdens at the foot of the cross my dear sister in Christ. Keep the faith.
I know that God only gives us what we can handle. I just wish he didn't think I could handle so much! :) Thank you so very much, Jerome! God Bless you!
Thanks for the update Robin. So sorry that you guys are having such a hard time. My thoughts and prayers are with all of you.
Thank you so much, Kwic! :)
So very sorry to hear you all are dealing with such hard medical issues. My prayers are with each of you Robin! Don't forget to take care of yourself while you are caring for others. I know that is hard to do, but hopefully you have or can find some respite care to give a break now and then.
I don't know what you may think, but I and former teacher have had good results with Acupuncture from very well trained and experienced acupuncturists for herniated and compressed disks...may give you some relief and lead to healing so no need for surgery. My compressed L4 and L5 discs responded to that treatment and the predicted surgery over 20 years ago has not had to be done....and still no pain or restrictions to activities either.
If interested, you can let me know your area and I can do some preliminary research on the ones in your area and make a recommendation for you......I have been treated solely with TCM for past 4-5 years and infrequently before that, always successfully. Am certified in a TCM therapeutic massage and currently studying and training in the next level so can ask the right questions for you if you want????
Hang in there
Thank you so much, Justfolk! It sure is an ongoing stresser for sure. Rick's dad is no on Hospice. We still have our own nurses, but, he needs to have the 1 Hospice nurse twice a week for his comfort package. The Morphine, etc. He just had another stroke yesterday morning. This will continue until one takes him. Rick is beside himself trying to be there for his dad and dealing with his cancer. I know I need time for me, but, I just can't right now.
Acupuncture sounds very interesting, and, I would be interested in it for myself. I sure don't want neck surgery. I know you know how painful this neck thing is. Oh my goodness, it's horrible. I live in Marmora, NJ if you have time, I would really appreciate it.
Again, Thank you so much!
He Robin, I just read your message and will start looking right now in your area. and will get back to you soon :-)
My prayers continue for all of you, such a heartrending time. Take care!
I messaged you with two I found. The first one sounds very good.
Both have good reviews from patients, but 1st one appears more comprehensive in his approach and scope of practice.
I will need to communicate with the other via email. Will do on Monday and see what she can tell me about her practice.
Keeping you in prayer and your family.
Robin, you are all in my prayers. <3 I don’t know how you do it!
