~ Where the Sun Will Never Set on Our liberty ~
1. Comey leaked his own memos, through a friend, as a way to instigate the appointment of a special counsel to take over the investigation of the Trump campaign's Russia ties.
2. That disclosure has infuriated Trump's team. Trump's lawyer issued a statement saying Thursday that Comey "unilaterally and surreptitiously made unauthorized disclosures to the press of privileged communications with the president" and suggested perhaps this should be investigated alongside other national security leaks.
3. Comey really distrusted Trump. He said he wrote memos detailing his meetings with Trump because "I was honestly concerned that [Trump] might lie about the nature of our meeting."
4. Former attorney general Loretta Lynch made Comey "queasy" by urging him to refer to the Clinton email investigation as a "matter," not an "investigation." Comey said this language "tracked the way the campaign was talking about the FBI's work."
5. The former FBI director really hopes the president taped their conversations. "Lordy, I hope there are tapes," Comey said, suggesting they would vindicate his implication that Trump was trying to head off an investigation of former national security adviser Michael Flynn.
6. Comey believed Trump was directing him to shut down the probe of Flynn, even though Trump never used those words. "I didn’t obey that," Comey told the committee. "But that’s what I thought."
But here is one thing we already knew: After the hearing, Intelligence Chairman Richard Burr, R-N.C, said "This is nowhere near the end of our investigation."
FULL: President Donald Trump's attorney Press Conference after James Comey's testimony 6/8/2017
(National Sentinel) Senate circus: Well, former FBI Director James Comey’s much ballyhooed public testimony before the Senate Intelligence Committee is now concluded and we must admit, we were wrong: There were a few bombshells dropped.
Just nothing like we anticipated.
For instance, Comey implicated both himself and his former boss, Obama Attorney General Loretta Lynch, in criminal activities:
Comey ADMITTED that he helped leak the contents of his own memo to the press, and this is a BOMBSHELL that the establishment press completely ignored. If Trump knew this, it alone was grounds to fire him.
— Fox Business Network’s Lou Hobbs noted Comey was a “weak and ineffective person” to lead the FBI, “and a leaker as well.”
— Talk radio host Buck Sexton tweeted, “Comey leaked memos he created as FBI director and then shared them with the media before Congress for political impact. Let that sink in.”
— Conservative pundit Mary Katharine Ham noted that everyone “has seen” the bogus ‘Trump dossier’ that make all sorts wild, unsubstantiated allegations about the president during trips to Russia, but “no one has seen the memos” he wrote. “We’re all taking about the memos but we can’t talk about the dossier.”
— Noted (Left-wing) constitutional attorney and law professor Alan Dershowitz tweeted out that “senators should ask Comey the name of the Columbia (University) professor” whom he gave his memos to in order to leak them to the media and “subpoena…him.”
As for Lynch:
— IMPORTANT: Comey testified that he saw “no indication” that any votes were altered during the 2016 election (meaning Hillary wasn’t cheated). Also, regarding the FBI’s investigation into the Clinton email scandal, he also said Obama’s attorney general, Loretta Lynch, ordered him to downplay the probe — isn’t that obstruction of justice? And what role did the president play in that order?
Lynch: “Yes, but don’t call it an investigation, call it a ‘matter.’”
Comey: “Why would I do that?”
Lynch: “Just call it a matter.”
So, Comey was in charge of the Federal Bureau of Matters?
It will be interesting to see if these legitimate, but unexpected, bombshells get any play in the disgusting mainstream media and on Capitol Hill (or Trump’s Justice Department).
Oh, and we also learned from Comey that the media’s reporting on all this “Trump-Russia collusion” has been wrong, that he had seen NO evidence Russian tampering changed the election outcome in any way, and that he did tell Trump multiple times he wasn’t under investigation.
Watching this today made me "queasy"! Comey proved that he is a snake and out to get Trump! Period! Marco Rubio asked one of the best questions of the hearing.
Sen. Marco Rubio asks fired FBI director James Comey about his Oval Office meeting with President Trump, where the president allegedly told him he "hoped" he could have the FBI go easy on fired national security adviser Mike Flynn, and his other interactions with the president during the investigation into the 2016 election.
RUBIO: Now, on a number of occasions here, you bring up -- let's talk (ph) now about the general Russia investigation, OK? In page 6 of your testimony, you say -- the first thing you say is, he asked what we could do to, quote/unquote, "lift the cloud," the general Russia investigation.
And you responded that we were investigating the matter as quickly as we could and that there would be great benefit, if we didn't find anything, to having done the work well. And he agreed. He reemphasized the problems it was causing him, but he agreed.
So, in essence, the president agreed with your statement that it would be great if we could have an investigation, all the facts came out and we found nothing. So he agreed that that would be ideal, but this cloud is still messing up my ability to do the rest of my agenda. Is that an accurate assessment of.
COMEY: Yes, sir. He actually went farther than that. He -- he said, "And if some of my satellites did something wrong, it'd be good to find that out."
RUBIO: Well, that's the second part, and that is the satellites. He said, "If (ph) one of my satellites" -- I imagine, by that, he meant some of the other people surrounding his campaign -- "did something wrong, it would be great to know that, as well"?
COMEY: Yes, sir. That's what he said.
RUBIO: So are those the other -- are those the only two instances in which that sort of back-and-forth happened, where the president was basically saying, and I'm paraphrasing here, it's OK, do the Russia investigation. I hope it all comes out. I have nothing to do with anything Russia. It'd be great if it all came out, if people around me were doing things that were wrong.
COMEY: Yes. As I -- I recorded it accurately there. That was the sentiment he was expressing. Yes, sir.
RUBIO: So what it basically comes down to is the president has asked three things of you. He asked for your loyalty, and you said you would be loyally honest.
COMEY: Honestly loyal.
RUBIO: Honestly loyal. The -- the -- he asked you, on one occasion, to let the Mike Flynn thing go because he was a good guy -- but you're aware that he said the exact same thing in the press the next day. "He's a good guy," "He's been treated unfairly," et cetera, et cetera. So I imagine your FBI agents read that.
COMEY: I'm sure they did.
RUBIO: Your -- the president's wishes were known to them, certainly, by the next day, when he had a press conference with the prime minister.RUBIO: But going back, the three requests were; number one, be loyal; number two, let the Mike Flynn thing go, he's a good guy, he's been treated unfairly; and, number three, can you please tell the American people what these leaders in Congress already know, what you already know, what you've told me three times -- that I'm not under -- personally under investigation?
COMEY: Those are the three things he asked. Yes, sir.
RUBIO: You know, this investigation is full of leaks, left and right. I mean, we've learned more from the newspapers sometimes than we do from our open hearings, for sure.
You ever wonder why, of all the things in this investigation, the only thing that's never been leaked is the fact that the president was not personally under investigation, despite the fact that both Democrats and Republicans in the leadership of Congress knew that, and have known that for weeks?
COMEY: I don't know. I find matters that are briefed to the Gang of Eight are pretty tightly held, in my experience.
RUBIO: Finally, who are those senior leaders at the FBI that you shared these conversations with?
COMEY: As I said in response to Senator Feinstein's question, deputy director, my chief of staff, general counsel, the deputy director's chief counsel, and then, more often than not, the number three person at the FBI, who is the associate deputy director, and then, quite often, the head of the national security branch.
Rubio rocked it! I haven't watched the whole thing. I had my own circus at work yesterday lol. Most news is spinning it to left, of course.
Comey admitted to leaking! Geez....he said 'if he were stronger' ??? The guy is well over 6' tall, director of the FBI, and admits to being weak in testimony? Something isn't adding up. What a snake! (Apologies to the sneaky slithering reptiles)
Comey is 6 ft 7. Ohhh, I'm weak. Bullshit! No, he is calculating and knew he had to make himself look the victim in this. Comey put on one of the best acting shows I have ever seen. He deserves an award. He made me sick to my stomach and he showed EXACTLY what he is. I think he has been one of the ones leaking information all along. Trump's lawyer filed to have this brought before the justice department. I think the DOJ just may go after Comey. They also must go after the real person guilty of obstruction. Loretta Lynch.
Trump was vindicated yesterday!
Indeed, Herb! This is going to be interesting, to say the least.
"Comey phony baloney"
As the President has said, he proved he's a "nut-job", but a clever one at that. He's so far managed to avoid this strategic question: "what has happened to Mulder & Skully"???
Investigating extra terrestrial connections to Benghazi ??
Comey being an Obama appointee, it is no surprise that he is a snake. What I want to know, is when will Trump kick the rest of those snakes out of his administration? Tweeted out.
He's a double headed snake, Kwic! Trump must clean house. One by one they will fall.
