~ Where the Sun Will Never Set on Our liberty ~
All this week I’ve been witnessing some of the end zone dancing taking place among various groups regarding the recent decision to allow women to fully serve in combat roles alongside the men. There are many variations on the theme, of course, but the editorial board at the Gray Lady probably summed the general sentiment up fairly well.
The Pentagon’s decision to end its ban on women in combat is a triumph for equality and common sense. By opening infantry, artillery and other battlefield jobs to all qualified service members regardless of sex, the military is showing that categorical discrimination has no place in a society that honors fairness and equal opportunity.
Equality is great, isn’t it? Respect and unbiased treatment of everyone regardless of gender or any other metric you’d care to name is a principle which I believe most of us can agree upon. And I still maintain that both men and women should be given a fair and equal shot at any job which they can adequately perform. And yet, when it comes to the idea of American women serving in combat roles on the front lines during war, I am a hypocrite. A throwback. A dinosaur.
I am a dinosaur as well....................
Great post D.A. God Bless you my friend for the service to our country.
Liberals continue to perform social experiments with the military which I consider very dangerous. Facts mean NOTHING to these idiots. If you have never spoken to brick wall....try talking to a liberal......same thing.
Good information. Col. West brings up an excellent point here:
“I have to tell you, if this is the case, then why do we have separate hockey leagues? Women should be out there playing ice hockey with the guys in the NHL. We should not have a WNBA. I can’t shoot a three-pointer, but there are ladies who could certainly take me to the hoop. Maybe they should be competing with Kobe Bryant.”
A social experiment such as this should perhaps be tried in the sports world first, and not on a battlefield where lives and freedom are at stake.
Thanks for the reply. However, I think we have many more pressing problems than trying to redirect what nature has given us.
Liberals are always looking for new victim groups to further their agenda. I hope the 'Women Nazis' are pleased with putting our Country at more risk.
We don't need ANY social experiments!
Very true. I love both quotes.
Socialism is a philosophy of failure, the creed of ignorance, and the gospel of envy, its inherent virtue is the equal sharing of misery.
BOY! Isn't that the truth!
Amen. Leave it to Winston Churchill to tell the truth about Socialism. He was a great man. Dr. Larry Arnn is a fan of Churchill and I intend to agree with Dr. Arnn.
shame on me I forgot to tell you that Hugh Hewitt has a one hour interview each Friday with Dr. Arnn. Sorry but you can hear them on Hughhewitt, com
Hugh is national on Salem Radio but you can get him on AM930 In San Antonio, Texas on the web just Google that AM930 in SA
Thanks Mangus for telling me that Hugh Hewitt has a one hour interview each Friday with Dr. Arnn. I will check that out. Please don't you feel bad about forgetting to tell me. Mangus, I consider you my friend of Hillsdale and a good friend to me. God Bless you.
And here the left accuses us of waging war on women. This should make any such accusations in the future null and void. If women want to engage in combat they need to go through the exact same physical training as men. No short cuts, no going easy, they must do exactly the same things as the men. Because on the battlefield the enemy does not discriminate either.
Very few women are capable of doing this because men are naturally bigger, stronger, more aggressive, and have larger lung capacities. Men are physically more suited for combat than women. There's other issues to consider as well. Women will be subject to rape if captured by the enemy, they would have to deal with feminine hygiene concerns while in the field, and I have to imagine at some point accidental pregnancies are bound to happen when you put men and women together.
As Alan West pointed out, we are at war and now is not the time to try a social experiment. I believe in the end this will further weaken our military. Maybe that's the plan all along.
During the WWs there was a school of thought that using a small caliber .25 was more effective as it just wounded most of the time and it took two men to carry out the third - so with one round you got three out of combat . . War is HELL and no for the wear of mind or body - many big men have broken down and cried like babies just lost all control. No all must be capable of doing the identical jobs as they depend on each other that is why they are called teams.
