~ Where the Sun Will Never Set on Our liberty ~
“Why do we fall, Bruce? So we can learn to pick ourselves up.”- Thomas Wayne (Batman’s father)
I think we’ve fallen. It’s a sad thing to see, considering this country’s history. You know, I started this blog with the idea of doing what the media fails to do. I want people to be informed and to take action. Sometimes, I “people watch” on Twitter, and I see the infighting. The RINOs versus the Paulbots, Team Santorum versus Team Rand… whatever.
Meanwhile, my country burns. Will we be so distracted with things that don’t matter, that we will be powerless to stop America’s downfall?
More than anything else – afraid, sad, worried – I’m angry. I’m angry because history has a tendency to repeat itself, and it seems many people don’t heed history’s warnings.
I am a daughter of exiled Cubans. I was born here, they are citizens, we are Americans. No hyphens. No “hispanic”.
Cuba, from what I was told, was once a beautiful island nation. It is now a place covered in filth. People make rafts out of pick-up trucks just to attempt to flee. It’s a place led by a man who made promises of everyone getting their fair share… Sound familiar?
America, as I’ve always known it, has been the beacon of freedom and opportunity for many generations, coming from many different places. It is a place made great because of patriots who laid their lives down for the cause of liberty.
I know all too well what tyranny can do to a person, to a family and to a country.
