~ Where the Sun Will Never Set on Our liberty ~
The post that I wrote in 2017 titled “Shame Lost” almost seems prophetic today. Nearly four years ago I had no idea that in the year 2020 we would see the worst and best of human behavior. Starting with the best, our doctors, nurses, firefighters and police have shown us what it is to be American. They answer the call when a pandemic reached our shores. They answered the call when our neighbors suffered. They continued to answer the call when our cities were burning even in the face of rhetoric calling for defunding our front line defense against lawlessness and disorder.
Please indulge me while I rant now. The worst of humanity masquerades as empathetic social engineering with a clear and present danger to society. We have governors that cannot manage a sink full of dirty dishes let alone a State. They obfuscate, lie, cheat, and steal from the taxpayers openly. They speak out of both sides of their mouths and have no compunction to accept responsibility for poor decision making. They claim they are looking out for the indigent and young people trying to get started in the journey of life. Time and time again they fail. They lie about it and double down on failures and lies. They have no shame!
There are no apologies for this behavior only equivocation and disinformation. What is the decent thing to do? Do we even know what decency is? I have quoted some of our nation’s founders often and I know that those of you reading are the choir. So I will not preach to you. I ask that we all dig deep through critical thought. We ask hard questions of ourselves and our fellow countrymen and countrywomen. I would ask everyone to ask why we have become so bitter and hateful. Are we allowing a group of people to control the conversation? It would appear that big tech is pushing their weight around and suppressing free speech. It also appears that Alinsky’s “Rules for Radicals” is back to a front and center position. The socio-fascists or statists are clearly using the oldest tool in their box. They blame or point their finger at someone and claim they are doing something wrong but they are the ones perpetrating the offense. This puts the accused on defense. It works nearly every time. Why does it work? I believe it is because people are mentally lazy. Engaging in critical thinking is not easy. It requires humility, honesty, and effort. Men are not Angels.
