Levin: Cruz, Trump, Sessions ‘Are Right,’ 14th Amendment Doesn’t Mandate Birthright Citizenship
Levin said that people are getting the clause wrong, “Because they’re result-oriented. Because they want to insist the Constitution says what it doesn’t say. Moreover, the Supreme Court has never ruled that the children of illegal aliens are American citizens. So the Supreme Court never ruled, even if they did, it would be wrong. The clause speaks for itself, the author of the clause made it abundantly, unequivocally clear, let’s add another thing, let’s read the clause together, shall we?
Watch.

Good Post. I saw some of this. I agree. There have been exceptions to "simply born here." If that is all there was, as Levin says, the 14th amendment would have stopped at just the first words. But it says subject to the jurisdiction thereof. We can argue that one till we are blue in the face, but in my opinion, unless a country is your ONLY country, you are really are not subject to ALL of the laws of that country - such as taxes, social security, Military service and more. Just being in a country makes you just a visitor. That means you are subject to "some laws" like traffic laws and the like, but not other laws. And illegal immigrants DAILY prove they are not subject to the laws of this country. Too many ignore our immigration law. Too many drive without drivers licenses or insurance. Too many do not pay taxes. Too many say that they are above being arrested. They are not subject to our laws - not all of them. Some of them are just criminals, or socialists, but I repeat myself there as Mark Twain would say.
