LB 482 to Stop AG21 in Nebraska

 Exciting News: We have confirmed the hearing date for our bill, LB 482. It will be 1:30 pm next Wednesday, February 13, at the Capitol. Senator Kintner has requested that we pack the house! So we are going to be networking to carpool together (if someone in your group has a handicapped sticker, there are usually places available on the north side of the Capitol). and trying to arrive about an hour early to be sure to get a seat.

If you want to testify or read a short statement to the committee, please let me know - that would be great. If you would rather not testify, but would come to support Senator Kintner, that would be fabulous also. When they open the doors and/or when you arrive, you sign in that you are either for or against the bill. We are FOR it! :) We want to create a positive presence in the room to show this Judiciary committee how important we think this issue is to all Americans!

I will have a sign up sheet both in the hall and at our meeting circle where you can sign up if you are interested in carpooling. Feel free to bring the kids if you are homeschooling (it's a great learning experience for them, and us too!), your neighbors, friends, and even Grandma! Thanks for being a part of history!

UPDATE for our Agenda 21 Focus Group:

 

I just talked with Senator Bill Kintner about the upcoming hearing for LB 482 nextWednesday, February 13th at 1:30 pm at the Capitol -- the hearing will be in Room 1113. We should still plan to be there at 12:30 pm....since we know the room number now, we will just go on in and get a seat because the doors should be open ahead of time. We don't know exactly what order they will discuss our bill, so we may have to be prepared to wait a little.

 

Senator Kintner is very happy to know that folks will be coming to support his efforts and is looking forward to meeting us! He says he already has enough people to testify so all we need to do is come! :) (Yea!)

 

In case you have never been to the Capitol before, here's a couple of details: in the center of the building is a round information table with directionals on the top post and a map of the offices on the counter. Restrooms are located in each corner of the building. There is a cafeteria and gift shop fairly close to the information table. On 2nd floor is the Clerk's office where you can get a complimentary roster listing booklet of all the senators and Capitol information, as well as a poster with pictures of this year's Legislature.

 

Remember, this is the "people's house" and constituents are always very welcome!

It has been noticed that the bill to protect private property rights and ban Agenda 21, LB 482, did not make it on the Platte Institute's "Bills of Interest" list! As you all know, smart growth costs citizens a lot of money, expands government, and does NOT preserve free enterprise, which are goals of the Platte Institute. I am thinking that the Platte Institute might want to take a look at the Agenda 21 issue, just like Americans for Prosperity did?

Would you take a minute to send them an email and ask them to look into Agenda 21? Feel free to send a link for Freedom Advocates.org or www.democratsagainstunagenda21.com or any other links you have. Please don't copy this email, though - put it in your own words, ok? It would be great if the Platte Institute would become aware of Agenda 21 to create more community awareness!
