Europe's Childless Leaders Sleepwalking Us to Disaster

I can't post the article here due to copyright restrictions, however I can link to it. It's a good article about the current state of Europe:

I opened the link and bookmarked it, and I finally got to it.  I found it very insightful.  What I see in social media is mostly parents are passionate about the issues.  I'm not saying others aren't, only that I do concur with the observation that the childless demonstrate a different level of passion (and a different perspective) on some issues, than those who have children.  Thanks for posting it.

I can see how having children would change one's perspective. In Europe, it means they really don't have a stake in the future. Europe has very low birthrates, with Germany being the lowest in the world. Meanwhile the Muslim immigrants believing in having large families. This will not bode well for the future of Europe. But it seems they have lost the will to preserve their own culture and civilization. I hope we here in America do not follow the same path.

I hope we do too!  All knowledge and skills of the oldest generation are gone when they die, unless the next generation is willing to learn.  Personally, I learned a lot from my parents yet wish I had learned even more.

China had/has the 'one child' policy for more than a generation.  As the population ages, there are fewer to care for the elderly, whether in nursing homes or at home-also fewer to carry on a family farm, or other productive and necessary work.  It's a different kind of crisis, but it also involves an undesired result of non-procreation.
