The Clinton Legacy: Disarming the Military & Dead Soldiers via @CWJonesIII

by  Chip Jones on September 16, 2013

As the dust settles at the Washington Naval Yard, with all the carnage depicted, no one is asking “Why didn’t anybody shoot back?” After all, it is yet another military installation. This is a most cogent question, especially when tragedy strikes, like it has at Fort Hood and now, the Naval Yard in Washington DC.

The United States of America has the best trained, and best equipped military on the planet, bar none. Yet in both of these instances, not a single person, no matter how proficient they are with weapons, was armed or able to respond to acts like these with deadly force. And where else in the country would we expect, and want the residents to be armed, other than our forts, and military bases?

Try to picture George Armstrong Custer returning to Ft. Riley with the 7th Cavalry and disarming themselves. It is not a likely scenario, to say the least. Shouldn’t the military sleep close to their arms, for fear of attack by those who would harm them? Isn’t that the nature of the military?

Yet, when America was serially attacked on US military bases: at Ft. Dix, then Ft. Hood, and now the Washington Naval Yard — where was the military response?

It begs the intelligent question, “What sort of moron would disarm our military, when we are still conducting the “War on Terror?” The answer is simple. The President whose base closure policies led to our defenselessness against aircraft on 9/11/2001 is that moron. His name was William Jefferson Clinton, and every Air Force or Naval Air Station in the Northeast was closed under his watch.

In March of 1993, in one of his first actions, President Clinton banned military facilities from carrying firearms, making the military police the only ones able to carry sidearms.

Even commanders were made incapable of arming their troops under the concern of threats. Here are a couple of scenarios for the readers to think about.

1. Colonel Travis orders the men at the Alamo to lock their issues weapons up and let a small contingent of Texas volunteers become their “police. Or

2. Colonel Thursday (played by Henry Fonda) the newly assigned commandant of Ft. Apache orders York (John Wayne) to have his men lock up their guns and appoints a “sheriff and deputies”.

Absurd? Beyond any reasonable doubt. Did it occur? Unquestionably in 1993.

And since then two madmen, Nidal Hassan and Aaron Alexis have killed at least 25 personnel and wounded scores more on two military facilities, Ft. Hood and the Naval Yard respectively. Without regard to their possible motives, this is as clear as day, yet lost on the mainstream media and politicians bent of disarming America.

It is simply dumb-assed to disarm the people we pay to be armed. And we can thank William Jefferson Clinton for that stupidity, and we can hold his legacy accountable for those deaths.

Great post!  I've agree, and I've always said that Clinton set the stage for the 9/11 attacks.  Democrats can deny it, but then there are those pesky things called facts...

Thanks for posting this info, Rahth! So, it goes all the way back to ole George H. W.

Guess most news outlets didn't feel like digging back that far, or they found it and didn't want to hang the disarming on military bases on Republicans.
