New restaurant  opens with the name Illegal Pete's     City and neighbors ask that he remove the name as it could offend "undocumented immigrants." OMG how far under have we gone
When did it start this "Offending someone?"  We are America, we have our lifestyle and our priorities.  If those who come here don't like what we are then they need to go back where they came from. When did it happen that we have to change our lifestyle to suit those who come here?  Mostly important why don't we stand up to them?

Great post. You know what offends me most? People who are always offended by what normal people think of as nonsense. I see nothing wrong with the restaurant name. Those who don't like it can elsewhere?

JG part of what upsets me is that the restaurant owner is considering changing the name.  If he does than he is part of the problem.  Each time someone complies to these insane liberals demands we lose more of our freedoms.

Trying to find how to contact him and ask that he does not.  Someone has to stand up and say " I am an American and I will not comply",  I have God and the constitution covering my back.  Who is covering yours?

I know, Mah. Perhaps there is a Facebook page. More and more businesses are advertising that way.

Sadly, this owner may be caving because he is faced with the high cost of defending against this nonsense, and perhaps he cannot afford that. And with an outpouring of community and national support FOR him, maybe he'll fight for his rights.

The left knows that some will cave in under the financial burden of the fight, and they count on that. Our rights don't end when someone else decides his are different. There is absolutely nothing denigrating about the word 'illegal.' And that is in any context. Please let us know if you find contact info, so FR can share in the support of his position.

Unreal, Mah! They just stick their noses in everywhere! Were I the restaurant owner, I would tell them to shove it where the sun don't shine! Then maybe a few hand gestures! LOL

I would go to their restaurant.  to hell with the progressives who wish not to offend illegals.  the illegals offend me.  they can go back from whence they came.

I feel the same way PE.  Have had incidents with illegal's trying to tell me that I cant take pictures of a sign on a main street here in Mich.  Trust me when I tell you I stood up to him and told him he needs to go back where he came from because we don't do business here like they must do in his country.
They will not control me.

Only in Colorado. In a free society offenses are inevitable. You can't stop offenses without also stopping freedom.

So wish that those who are confronted Watchman would understand what they are doing when they bow down to this ridiculous demands by those who would destroy us.

It isn't Illegal Jose's for cryin' out loud, it is Illegal Pete's.  Maybe one or more Petes  is/are illegal.  Maybe the owner is Pete and he once jaywalked.

I agree.  Some people in America need to get a grip and get a life!

Illegal Pete's started in 1995.  The history is interesting.  Also, has never been confronted with this kind of request for all the years he has been in business, that is, not until now as the Criminals in Washington continue their stroll down this path of Changing America to what will be our total distruction.  They are trying to kill every facet of our freedoms and rule with an iron fist.

Oh and by the way, another example is Furgeson.  That is called Democracy foks, ruling by mob rule. They are making the minority become the majority as they will rule the outcome.....

Democracy vs. Republic

Diffen ›

Social Sciences ›

The key difference between a democracy and a republic lies in the limits placed on government by the law, which has implications on minority rights. Both forms of government use a representational system where citizens vote to elect politicians to represent their interests and form the government. However, in a republic, a constitution or charter of rights protects certain inalienable rights that cannot be taken away by the government, even if it has been elected by a majority of voters. In a pure democracy, the majority is not restrained and can impose its will on the minority.

Constraints on the government

No; the majority can impose its will on the minority

Yes; the majority cannot take away certain inalienable rights

is ruled by the omnipotent majority. In a Democracy, an individual, and any group of individuals composing any minority, have no protection against the unlimited power of the majority. It is a case of Majority-over-Man.

a constitutionally limited government, of the representative type, created by a written Constitution--adopted by the people and changeable by them only by its amendment--with its powers divided between three separate branches of government.

I like the sound of the word. It means people can live free, talk free, go or come, buy or sell, be drunk or sober, however they choose. Some words give you a feeling. Republic is one of those words that makes me tight in the throat; the same tightness a man gets when his baby takes his first step or his first baby shaves and makes his first sound like a man. Some words can give you a feeling that make your heart warm.

Republic is one of those words.

It seems to me that 30 nut cases with a liberal lawyer or two are threatening -um, suggesting possibility of- violence. Since when does a sign instill violence? A sign cannot instill anything. It is an inanimate object. Clearly these jerks do not want to have that sign where they can see it. If liberals don't want it, then we better get rid of it! Good thing they're not coming for your kids. Or are they?

Read all the posts.  Now will answer your question.  We will begin to stand up for America the day the average American male regrows gonads.  However, he will not put those gonads to use until his wife, girl friend, mother, significant other or person of the cloth tells him to put them to use....incidentally, I'm still looking for mine.
