Hat tip, Jodi's tids.

Maybe some of you will have to just hold your nose and vote for a RINO. Please don't stay home and 'protest by not voting.' I see it like this. Not voting is like giving the left one more vote. A RINO voting with us 60% of the time is better than a leftest voting against us 100% of the time. I welcome your comments. ~JG

ELECTIONS
RINOs are not the Enemy

Because it is once again election season, I am hearing from a great many people who sincerely believe RINO is the vilest of all four-letter words. The weird thing is that although I am about as conservative as a person can be, I wind up spending an inordinate amount of time defending them.

I understand that people who take their conservative politics and values seriously wish every Republican did the same, and resent those who don’t. But we are Republicans and therefore, unlike liberals, we are not all the end result of the cookie cutter. It is easy for Democrats to line up in a very neat row because they all subscribe to the same talking points. For instance, they believe that a massive federal government collecting a massive amount of tax dollars, running up a massive debt and controlling everything from the economy to education, from health care to the climate, is the answer to every problem.

My defense of RINOs doesn’t mean I share their views, it means I am enough of a realist to recognize that ours is not a conservative nation, and probably hasn’t been one since the days of Calvin Coolidge, and that our real choice is between the zealots for socialism who infest the Democratic Party and those who constitute the only buffer we have against them.

Again, I understand that some people hate to confront reality and prefer to say that both parties are the same, and if there isn’t a Ted Cruz or a Mike Lee on the ballot, they prefer to stay home on Election Day, indulging in the luxury of feeling themselves superior. Which would be bad enough, but they then spend the next two, four, six or eight years, whining about how the liberals are ruining the country.

My heart hurts for our country too, and for me, it helps when I focus locally. The rest of it is just too far away, and gets maddening, especially since they have their nose and regulations into every aspect of our lives. If I thought the neighboring town had a candidate to make a difference, and my own didn't, I'd work that individual in the next town. I've done that a few times, too. You rock, Mah, and are a real patriot!

You Rock JG.  You always make sense of things.  I just wish I could find the solution to change all of this.  I have to walk away sometimes just so I can keep my sanity.

You are a hard worker for this cause JG and wish there were more like you.  The people here on this site are great patriots and I am proud to say I am one of you.  Please take care an thank you for all you do.

Grab a bag of clothes pins, Mah! Stick them on all your friends/familys noses and drag them along! LOL

I am a bit confused Robin.  Yes we must all vote, but if you look at the candidates in the republican party they are no different for the better part than those in the democratic party.

My question is Why do we settle to hold our nose and vote for the same corruption that has been destroying this once wonderful country?  Not to mention that Obama has stacked the deck with all of these illegal's , now a word that seems not to have much meaning ( illegal's).  I listen to the media reporting this story this morning and there is no outrage of any kind.  Is this what has happened to us all?

Are we just ready to settle rather than change this?  Just curious.  Would love to hear from all of you to this question?  Are we really ready to just stand back hold our nose and vote for those who mean us harm?  Do we really think putting in republicans will change what is going on? Mostly, What policies do they stand for?  Has anyone here have any idea.

Here is a link that was recommended by Mark for all voters.  It is FREE to sign up to and will allow you to see what your senator, congressman really stand for and how they are rated.

Once you see this you may change your minds.

if you don't want to sign up then just look at the rating of both Republicans and democrats...... https://www.conservativereview.com/scorecard

Writing this as I am confused as to why we must settle. Just hoping someone can help me through this.

Hi Mah!

Let me explain myself! 1st I agree with you!

I feel this election is our LAST chance to possibly stop the total transformation of the US! I don't know if the Republicans taking the Senate will make a difference or not. Probably not! I really think we are past turning things around. Living in blue NJ and having had 2 horrible leftie progressive Governors before Christie that did so much damage, Christie was the choice I was left with. He was Dem light. Doing less damage at a slower pace than his predecessors. This is the state in which we find ourselves at this point in time. We have been fighting for the last 6 years and until things either break down totally, and we end up having to start over from complete scratch and rebuild this country, we have to fight our battles that are in front of us. I can not go to the polls and pull the lever for Cory Booker. I must go vote for the Republican. I also have 2 questions on the ballot that have to do with amending the state constitution for more money for Agenda 21 sustainable issues.  Until things change, and in a BIG way, and I don't know what it will take, I have to go! This country has been asleep for far too long and they are entrenched everywhere. I wish it weren't so, but it is. It's going to take a very long time to turn this ship around.

Take care, Mah!

Robin

I understand your feelings Robin and certainly didn't mean to sound like I was asking others not to vote.

I am just concerned that we continue the same pattern over and over and over again and then spend the year complaining about who got into office.  I am just wishing that the people would stand up and get things changed.

Why should anyone do anything when no one seems to care.  Like Regan said " We are only one generation away from losing our freedom"  unfortunately I see it being lost each and every day little by little.  Today the FEC announced that they want control over the Internet and political advertising of any kind.  Why is any of this accepted?  Where is the outrage or even the outcry that this is not what we do in America.

Democrats Push for New Heavy Regulations on Internet Postings, Drudge, and Blogs

Yesterday I posted on the illegal's, now today I hear about the above.  I guess what I am saying is ...yes it will take a very long time Robin but the way we are going it is going to take so long that the generations to come will never know what it was to live in a free land.

again I pray I didn't offend anyone here, but then again the truth be told so that we at least open Our minds to the reality of what is happening and get some kind of game plan to stop this and soon.

Hi Mah!

Oh no, I never thought you were saying not to vote! I am as fed up as you are! No matter how loudly we scream, call, tweet, email them, they do not listen. The establisment wants nothing to do with us. They are no better than the left. We need all of congress to be Ted Cruz and Mike Lee's! How we go about doing that is very frustrating. I am beside myself with what I see every day. He has gotten rid of all the top generals that would buck him and go against him. I keep asking WHAT it is going to take to shut him down. WHAT will it take for millions of us to get in the streets? I just don't know any more.

You know I love ya girl!

Hugs

I totally understand Robin.  I love you too and am sending you tons of hugs.  Please take good care.
