Hat tip, Jodi's tids.

Maybe some of you will have to just hold your nose and vote for a RINO. Please don't stay home and 'protest by not voting.' I see it like this. Not voting is like giving the left one more vote. A RINO voting with us 60% of the time is better than a leftest voting against us 100% of the time. I welcome your comments. ~JG

ELECTIONS
RINOs are not the Enemy

Because it is once again election season, I am hearing from a great many people who sincerely believe RINO is the vilest of all four-letter words. The weird thing is that although I am about as conservative as a person can be, I wind up spending an inordinate amount of time defending them.

I understand that people who take their conservative politics and values seriously wish every Republican did the same, and resent those who don’t. But we are Republicans and therefore, unlike liberals, we are not all the end result of the cookie cutter. It is easy for Democrats to line up in a very neat row because they all subscribe to the same talking points. For instance, they believe that a massive federal government collecting a massive amount of tax dollars, running up a massive debt and controlling everything from the economy to education, from health care to the climate, is the answer to every problem.

My defense of RINOs doesn’t mean I share their views, it means I am enough of a realist to recognize that ours is not a conservative nation, and probably hasn’t been one since the days of Calvin Coolidge, and that our real choice is between the zealots for socialism who infest the Democratic Party and those who constitute the only buffer we have against them.

Again, I understand that some people hate to confront reality and prefer to say that both parties are the same, and if there isn’t a Ted Cruz or a Mike Lee on the ballot, they prefer to stay home on Election Day, indulging in the luxury of feeling themselves superior. Which would be bad enough, but they then spend the next two, four, six or eight years, whining about how the liberals are ruining the country.

I agree with you, JG! I will be holding my nose and voting!

Thanks, Robin! I think we've all had to do that at some point. If nothing else, your vote for a RINO can cancel out one fraudulent vote.

Welcome, JG! Seems I always have to do that here in NJ! Ugh! At this point, we really have to get out the vote, no matter what!

LOL. Often, I do here in NY too. I wish Rob Astorino had a shot at winning, but I don't think so. I had occasion to meet him last month, and he is quite capable with an impressive fiscal track record. He will get my vote for sure. I'm also following PA, and I have my doubts about a Corbett reelection.

Anything to have Harry Reid gone.  I would vote for a Kardashian if it meant Harry Reid was out of power.  Wait ... that might be a bit much.

Nah! That's not too much!

Mark Levin, last night reported that in the Washington Post came this frightening statistics ..........." Because non-citizens tended to favor Democrats (Obama won more than 80 percent of the votes of non-citizens in the 2008 CCES sample), we find that this participation was large enough to plausibly account for Democratic victories in a few close elections. Non-citizen votes could have given Senate Democrats the pivotal 60th vote needed to overcome filibusters in order to pass health-care reform and other Obama administration priorities in the 111th Congress. Sen. Al Franken (D-Minn.) won election in 2008 with a victory margin of 312 votes. Votes cast by just 0.65 percent of Minnesota non-citizens could account for this margin. It is also possible that non-citizen votes were responsible for Obama’s 2008 victory in North Carolina. Obama won the state by 14,177 votes, so a turnout by 5.1 percent of North Carolina’s adult non-citizens would have provided this victory margin.ing illegals and voting....'

This is a must read.  For all who think that these immigrants piling into our country have not made a difference in our election outcomes.  The above is only a very small part of this investigative report.  Once more in your face liberalism.  Once again nothing is being done as we change our country into dictorial rule.

I will vote and hold my nose but is this really how we want to go to the polls each year?  Just saying.......isnt it time someone does something?  This is the way to a third world country thinking.

If ALL solid, honest Americans vote, especially in local elections, we stand a chance. Sitting home doesn't help at all. What Mark is describing is another issue, the fraud to be addressed and prosecuted by those few Congressmen willing to make a stand for right. It's up to us to make sure we vote and encourage others to vote as well.

I agree JG we must vote.  Please see response above.  I am just so confused why we are having to hold our nose and vote once again.

There just must be something more that can be done to stop this.

That may be true in some places, and not in others, Mah. I've said for years, for longer than I've had internet, that change begins locally. If there is a major catastrophe, it will all become local instantly. It matters who we vote for at all levels, and local is most important. Your school board, your town or city, your county.

Hi JG

I understand where your coming from and maybe in your area you have great candidates to vote for locally.  In my local area, I tried to not vote for those who had been in service forever and after looking up their records, prayed they would not be running after the primaries. But alas, even though I voted conservative, all the way the incumbents won.  So at all levels i am not in a turmoil as to what to do. Yes, I like others will once again hold my nose as you say and vote republican. Once again, kidding myself that they are the better of two evils.

I am not sure that my brain and logic can come to a happy medium, to justify this kind of voting....it reminds me of a third world county.  Once again I am hearing the line "When the dems win"  I soberly wonder if they know due to the fact that the illegal's can now vote, and that many of the republicans are RINO's and or say they are Republicans but are truly dems.

My soul cries for this country, my heart is broken, and my love for what is left is slowly dying.  All, I have left are memories of what it was like.   Prayers that God will forgive those who want to destroy the country he gave us to protect but forsake.

Mah, dems win here more often than not. I am among the few that keep trying, and it looks like our numbers are finally growing. You are really in a tough state, and I know that. We all engage in the process in some way, and I know you do from some of the things we've talked about.

The ordinary person rarely stands a chance to serve constituents anymore, and that isn't what the founders intended, for sure. One has to ask why a candidate for Congress, Senate, or Governor, will spend millions for a job that pays under $200k. I don't have answers for changing that, I just know I feel some better about my little corner of the world when I am part of the process, from just voting, to knocking on doors and all things in between. I often look away from it all for a bit, just to hang onto sanity!
