Are Nationalized Police on the Horizon?

Note that the desire to centralize police power has already been expressed. In response to the tragic shooting of a black man by a South Carolina police officer, Al Sharpton — who has visited the White House approximately 85 times, which includes one-on-one meetings with Obama — recently called for “national law on policing.” Also note that during the fiasco in Ferguson, Missouri, Attorney General Eric Holder said that his DOJ was “prepared” to dismantle the town’s police department “if that’s what’s necessary”; the idea was that its duties would be assumed by a larger entity such as the state police.

So how could law enforcement be nationalized incrementally? Here’s the process critics fear:

1. Offer federal “help” first to large statist cities, as they’re more amenable to big-government “remedies.” But make your programs available to any municipality that will have them.

2. Knowing that "he who pays the piper calls the tune,” get them addicted to federal funding and then threaten to withhold it if they balk at Washington intrusion. Gradually increase the federal control via incremental regulation creation.

3. Using incidents such as the Ferguson shooting as a pretext, orchestrate a plan whereby smaller departments are absorbed by larger ones; continue this process until, for the most part, only large law-enforcement entities exist.

4. Once these large departments are dependent on federal money and are already operating based on federal guidelines, it’s one more small step to nationalize them completely. And given man’s imperfection, there will always be Ferguson-type incidents to use as a pretext for further control.

Yet this really constitutes a loss of control — by the people. After all, if you don’t like your local police’s policies, next election you can vote, as the case may be, for a different sheriff or a mayor who’ll appoint a better police commissioner. But when your police are controlled by Washington politicians, who are chosen by the 100 million or so Americans who vote in national elections, the will of the 15,000 people in your town is essentially rendered meaningless.

Good day Jodi 180: I believe that most people are in denial as they have not shown and anger. They don't know how to bargain and are so depressed over all entitlements they receive and are willingly accepting the destruction of USA. Caring for each other like it was years ago is something that people today know nothing about.  Most are willing to take easy route and accept the evil. In third world countries they people are more loyal then they are here in USA.  The illegal black Muslim and his liberal friends and associates know that American people have sold out their country family friends and God. Hitler's blueprint for destruction is being followed perfectly. Who will save USA?

I know most in my circles are in denial.  Others are angry.

Who will save the USA?.....it's going to have to be us.  As Watchman says, once we accept that our country's lost, it's over.

Everyday I talk to mostly seniors and they are in complete denial. They can't accept the fact that people could sell out their country. I accept the fact that the younger generation has sold out and will take anything free from government. I have heard them say why work when you can enjoy others hard work. I would rather die then sell out country or family for any amount. God Bless

Well put Lawrence. On the up side, I have 6 children. All of them are hard working and not interested in what they can get from the government. It all starts at home. My wife and I have replaced ourselves with half a dozen hard working Americans. Most of them are even God-fearing. As bleak as it looks, there's still hope for the future.

Jim: I think that your family is small percentage of Americans today. God Bless for that. Just recently I saw a young person in church and started talking with them. The only reason they were there was for coffee and donuts. This person claims that it is responsibility of rich to support those that chose to enjoy life as it was put to me. Heard this person gets good benefits from government and spends it on nicer things in life like drugs. They claim they register to vote by mail ballot. Stupid can not be fixed it must be taken out of society as it will spread like cancer.

Lawrence, I'm generally rather cynical by nature. But I think that the liars currently heading our government and their lapdog media are trying to convince we, the majority, that we are a marginalized minority. I don't believe it. I think it's possible to get a conservative elected president. That one change alone will do a lot to turn things around in this country. Once the population is no longer being manipulated, daily, by a communist/socialist regime intent on stirring up class and racial hatred, people will once again start to see the hope that is America. I refuse to believe the lie that most of my countrymen are the stupid, useless riffraff that this government seems to think they are. We are a great country with very evil leadership. WE CAN AND WE WILL THROW THE BUMS OUT !

I grieve too. Mostly over what we won't do, that we've accepted being victims, told what our remedy is, pursuing voting or armed revolution, as though nothing exists in between.  There's much but it seems no one cares. I am tired of the stand of trying to prove to government how it must change as well, that will get us nowhere since those corrupted by power know they are so drunk, and know what they are doing, been going on for 150 years or more so to believe otherwise is pure naivete.

I will not let conspiracy theory and belief in "new world order" as evil stop me from recognizing what we can do if we'd only care enough to look (America is the New World and our order is Declaration of Independence and Constitution to assure Individual Liberty, where the people are the Master and government the servant -- a New World Order from the Old World Order of Feudal Tyranny and our subject servitude in homage to the "blue bloods).
