~ Where the Sun Will Never Set on Our liberty ~
A nation can survive its fools, and even the ambitious. But it cannot survive treason from within. An enemy at the gates is less formidable, for he is known and carries his banner openly. But the traitor moves amongst us within the gate freely, his sly whispers rustling through the alleys, heard in the very halls of government itself. For the traitor appears not a traitor, he speaks accents familiar to his victims, and wears their face and arguments, he appeals to the baseness that lies at the hearts of all men. He rots out the soul of the nation, he works secretly and unknown in the night to undermine the the pillars of the nation, he infects the body politic so that it can no longer resist. A murderer is less to fear.
Marcus Tullius Cicero
"...I am committed against every thing which, in my judgement, may weaken, endanger, or destroy [the Constitution]...and especially against all extension of Executive power; and I am committed against any attempt to rule the free people of this country by the power and the patronage of the Government itself..."
And he created a darn nice dictionary!
Yes, he did!
"At what point then is the approach of danger to be expected? I answer, if it ever reach us, it must spring up amongst us. It cannot come from abroad. If destruction be our lot, we must ourselves be its author and finisher. As a nation of freemen, we must live through all time, or die by suicide." -Abe Lincoln
Good post, Gib. It describes Obama perfectly! It also describes many within our government that have been working for decades to undermine this country. They are plenty!
