The AHCA has failed.  Trump and Ryan blame the Freedom Caucus for its failure.

Not counting the Democrat opposition to this bill, there were roughly 15 votes against this bill from the Freedom Caucus.  There were roughly 18 that were not part of the Freedom Caucus.  So why is the Freedom Caucus getting blamed?  Why did the Republicans vote 60 times to repeal Obamacare when they knew it would not get passed a Democrat-controlled Senate and/or a Democrat President yet they did not vote for a simple repeal now?  Why did the House leadership construct a bill without the conservative members of the House? Why were they not allowed to even see it?  Was the defunding of Planned Parenthood permanent, or for a limited time like say one year?

So why can't Republicans move on, and put forth a clean bill to defund Planned Parenthood?  Why can't Republicans move on, and put forth a clean bill to repeal Obamacare, or put forth a clean bill to purchase insurance across state lines, or put forth a clean bill that would eliminate the mandates, and/or get rid of the subsidies in Obamacare?  Good questions huh?  Are we to believe that Trump and Ryan are too stupid to think of those options?  I don't think they are.  Do you?

I have heard many try to say that Trump was lied to by Paul Ryan.  The bill was less than 130 pages, was it not?  Did Trump not think a bill that would directly effect the life and/or death of every American, and effect roughly 1/6th of our economy was even worth reading, or even being part of its construction? Any plan that mandates insurance companies to insure those with pre-existing conditions destroys the free market, and will raise insurance premiums for everyone else until they can no longer afford to keep insurance.  This will ultimately lead to the few remaining insurance companies going out of business leaving us with only one option...single payer healthcare.  It works great in Canada, right Trump?

As our healthcare system continues to worsen, insurance companies continue to go out of business, and our debt continues to spiral out of control, Trump at least, is looking at the bright side of things on our behalf.

Don't you feel better already?  Me neither.

Outstanding questions Rahth! You are better than anyone I know at writing!

Every Conservative must ask these questions of their representatives in Congress and the President. NOW is the time to become vocal like never before!

Thank you so much for posting this! I am getting this out to everyone!

;) Robin

Thank you Robin :-)

78 Republicans signed the Repeal Pledge...78!!  And the 15 who stood by their promise, now apparently, are responsible that 'Obamacare remains the law of the land.'

The Freedom Caucus is to blame?

First and foremost, the Democrats, who shoved the ACA down our throats and continue to vote in lock-step don't warrant any blame?  No, not them.

The moderate Republicans who couldn't vote for the bill because it didn't expand Medicaid or didn't address some other progressive agenda aren't responsible?  Nope, not them either.

All of the Republicans who ran their campaigns with the promise to repeal Obamacare...(root and branch, right Mitch?)...yeah, no blame there.

The speaker, who stood at the podium, held up a copy of the AHCA and told us, "This bill, the American Health Care Act, keeps our promise to repeal and replace Obamacare", and was in fact, lying?  Certainly not.

How about President "Art of the Deal".  Can't blame him...he just got there and he's not a politician.

But 15 honest patriots...it's all their fault.

It makes me question...why does every politician in DC, from the president on down, hate Conservatives and Conservatism?

Because in truth, they're for big government.

I don't feel any better either, Rah.

You said it, Jodi! They are for big government. Here's a neat sidenote: Paul Ryan's wife was a lobbyist for Health Insurance companies, BC/BS and others. Also a lobbyist for Big Pharma. Neat huh?

Whoa! That explains a lot!!!!!

Ben Nelson Net Worth is $12 Million.

Need I say more about big govt/big insurance/obamatrumpryancare?  As a Cornhusker, I'll always be shameful for Bendover's 'help'.

Further justification for the idea to make the US Congress meet electronically -- each member from his home district.  That way he/she sees his/her people every day.  This is especially useful to the people  when issues of great consequence are being debated -- like healthcare, or when campaign promises are being ignored -- like healthcare.

Trump should be thanking the Freedom Caucus for saving his butt on this one.  What was wrong with Rand Paul's two page plan?

Not one thing was wrong with Rand Pauls plan.  He needs to back the hell off the conservatives. As Mark Levin said, there are millions of us out here and will turn on him in a second.  Paul Ryan thinks we are all stupid. Big mistake!

If he was truly a conservative, he wouldn't have to thank them.  He would have taken care of it himself.

He's not a conservative.

Lookie at this!

Trump takes Rand Paul on a golf outing to discuss healthcare

President Trump brought Republican Sen. Rand Paul to Trump National Golf Club in Virginia on Sunday to play golf with him, a little more than a week after the party's healthcare bill failed.

"They're discussing a variety of topics, including healthcare," White House deputy press secretary Stephanie Grisham said.

Budget director Mick Mulvaney, a former leading House conservative, also joined the two.

Paul had predicted in early March that the House bill would not pass the Senate. Instead, he proposed his own healthcare bill, though it was not taken up by Congress.

After Paul's comments, Trump took to Twitter to put pressure on the senator to support the healthcare bill.

"I feel sure that my friend @RandPaul will come along with the new and great health care program because he knows Obamacare is a disaster!" Trump wrote at the time.

Trump hinted earlier Sunday on Twitter that there's potential for Republicans to unify around healthcare. His tweet followed a week of attacks on the conservative House Freedom Caucus after the failure of the American Health Care Act.

Rand Paul optimistic about Obamacare repeal after golfing with Trump

Republican Sen. Rand Paul was optimistic about repealing Obamacare after he spent the day playing golf with President Trump.

"We had a great day with the president. Played some golf, and we talked and we talked about a little bit of healthcare. I continue to be very optimistic that we are getting closer and closer to an agreement on repealing Obamacare," Paul said.

Budget director Mick Mulvaney, a former leading House conservative, also joined the two on the golf course.

After Paul predicted in early March that the Republican healthcare bill would fail, Trump took to Twitter to pressure the senator to support the bill.
